CREATE-WITH-NATURE-ZONE (photo: Zach Pine)

Originally we met Zach Pine when he was working on a project at an area street fair. The Garden supplied him with natural material from pruning and trimming. Janet, one of Blake Garden gardeners had long cleared an area from Algerian Ivy and it became a holding area for materials for the garden. Zach came and reorganized the space and the CREATE-WITH-NATURE-ZONE was created. It is an area where anyone can come and make something out of the natural objects that the garden supplies. The only rules are that materials stay in the zone demarcated by stumps and rocks and that the maker has to be willing to let their creation be disassembled and reassembled into other creations. The project is a success. Zach returns to the site a couple times a week to tidy up, resupply the materials and document the process.
