Teaching Positions The GSI and Reader positions listed here are all subject to fee remission. Unless otherwise noted, all positions are advertised as a 25% appointment. This is the equivalent of 10 hours per week. Some faculty ask GSIs to work less than the 10 hours per week so that the hours can be banked for midterms, field trips, studio reviews, and finals. You will be able to discuss this with the faculty should you be hired. If you apply for a GSI position for the first time, please be aware that you will be required to complete an online tutorial during the summer and attend LD ARCH 301, which is specifically designed for GSIs (available in the fall). If you have any questions regarding the hiring time-frame, GSI duties and responsibilities beyond those listed on the job descriptions, fee remissions, pay schedule, and/or new contract guidelines, please contact Yong No directly. Students interested in the GSI or reader position should fill out the application. Students may earn up to two non-academic credits for being a GSI or a GSR in the Department of Landscape Architecture & Environmental Planning if they have an appointment of 25% or more. Please use LD ARCH 300 form for GSI credit and the LD ARCH 295 form for GSR credit. You must turn in the form for the semester you are a GSI or a GSR. No credits will be given retroactively. Please obtain the appropriate approvals before turning in the form to the Student Affairs Officer, Yong No, 206 Wurster Hall. GSI credits form (PDF format)
