Students from the departments of Landscape Architecture, Architecture, Urban Design, and Transportation Design participated in an interdisciplinary studio intended to develop detailed designs for prototypical sustainable neighborhoods related to a new transit corridor between the “old city” and a new high-speed rail stop in Jiaxing, China. LAEP Professor Judith Stilgenbauer and LAEP alumnus Clark Wilson were two of the studio instructors. The studio was conducted in collaboration with faculty and students in the College of Architecture and Planning, Tongji University, Shanghai, and studio participants visited China, where they had the opportunity to visit the site and work with the Tongji University students.
