Munich & Berlin, Summer 2005 Print

During a one-week excursion, Professor Judith Stilgenbauer and five MLA students studied 17th- to 21st-century urban open spaces and public parks in Berlin, Potsdam, Woerlitz, and Munich, Germany. During the Dessau and Munich part of the visit, Berkeley students were joined by Professor Erich Buhmann and international MLA students from Anhalt University of Applied Sciences. In Munich the group met with Professor Peter Latz and MLA candidates from the University of Technology, Munich-Weihenstephan.

In Berlin and vicinity, sites included: Spreepark, Uferpark an Bundesschlange, Tiergarten, Holocaust Memorial, Lustgarten, Potsdamer Platz, Leipziger Platz, Unter den Linden, Jewish Museum, Mauerpark, Invalidenpark, Sanssouci, Wörlitz, Ferropolis, and Bauhau Dessau. In Munich, sites visited were: Petuelpark, Parkstadt Schwabing, Georg Freundorfer Platz, Nymphenburg, Hofgarten and Englischer Garten, Olympiapark, Westpark Munich, Landschaftspark Riem, and BUGA Munich 2005.
